Can we know The time of the Lord's return?

³⁰ I stumbled today on this verse from the book of Joel;

I will show wonders in the heavens
    and on the earth,
    blood and fire and billows of smoke.
³¹ The sun will be turned to darkness
    and the moon to blood
    before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. Joel 2:30

It got me thinking because it tells us what to look up for before his return, the sun will be darkened and the moon will be like blood so I did some research and I found some interesting things.

In Genesis 1:14 it says that days and nights will be for "signs and seasons"
in Hebrew the word signs(owth ,oth) "אות" actually translates as a signal (literally or figuratively), as a flag, beacon, monument, omen, prodigy, evidence, etc..

And the word seasons (mow`ed  mo-ade') "מועדים" translates for an appointment, i.e. a fixed time or season; specifically, a festival...
in other words the book of Genesis tells us that we will know how and when to recognize the coming of the lord through the stars in the sky. the wise men that came to celebrate the birth of Yeshua knew when to go by the stars and so shall we know when his second coming should be.

In 1 Thessalonians 5:1 it reads ..."but of the times and seasons brethren you have no need that I write unto you"... Paul writes that because those who know when to expect him will know the times and the seasons just like it says in Genesis 1:14
and then it goes on ..." For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief"... so he basically is saying that we will know when he will be coming by the signs and the seasons and we will NOT be caught off guard and he shall not come to us who are prepared as a thief in the night because we are called to watch at all times.

In Luke 17:26 Yeshua explains that..." And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all."...
It is interesting that Yeshua mentions that it will be like in the days of Noah when Noah received a warning a "Heads Up" from God 100 years prior to the flood to build an ark and prepare is the same way  the generations living in the last age receiving warnings all over scripture to keep watch and be prepared so we wont be caught off guard, many christians today believe we are going to be "raptured" before any events of tribulation and end times begin but this is not what the scripture points out, why would there be so much emphasis on warnings and what will take place in the end times if we are not going to be here? the warnings are for this generation living in the last age in the final years before the lord's return but that is a whole entire subject for another article. it is truly amazing that we live in days we see so many signs and warnings lining up and we see biblical prophecy unfolds before our eyes but at the same time there are people who are simply clueless to whats going on, just like in the days of Noah...
there will be both blood moon and an eclipse in 2015 and the blood moons always fall on important dates for the Jewish people which is truly interesting,
And although I do not know when exactly his return will take place I am sure watching eagerly as I see things unfold.
